To display the All Reviews Badge in your email, go to ‘Widgets’ option from the menu and click the ‘Footer & Email Badges’ button on the left side menu.

Then click the ‘Edit widget settings’ button.

The Footer & Email Badges Settings page will display. There, click on the ‘Badge codes’ tab.

Click the ‘Copy email code’ button to copy the HTML code into the clipboard and paste it into the desired place in your email.

Unlike Shopify template badges, the email badges do not auto-update. You will have to manually paste the fresh code from time to time.

When Opinew sends emails those merge tags will be filled automatically with the right data.

So if you are sending an email to John Smith that ordered a Spiderman Toy and the email has a text:

Hi {customer_name},

Thanks for ordering {product_name} from us ….

we will modify it like this when we send:

Hi John,

Thanks for ordering Spiderman Toy from us ….

Available Merge Tags

You can check what tags are available for each of the templates at the top of every Template Editor:

You will see the required and optional merge tags for each template.

!!Required merge tags must to be in the template or it will not save!!

Extra

There are also special [[ ]] tags that will make text inside them not display if any of the merge tags are empty. Read more about it here: [[]] conditional tags

If ANY of the merge tags ({coupon_value}, {customer_name}… etc.) don’t exist, then the whole text inside the “[[ ]]” WILL NOT display.

For example we put a bit of text surrounded by [[ ]] in the default “Thank You” page template that your customers see after they leave a verified review:

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REVIEW {customer_name}!

[[ And here is a {coupon_value} coupon as a little thank you from us 
Code: {coupon_name} ]]


Thanks,
{shop_name}

If you set up a coupon, then the text will display.

But if there is no coupon, {coupon_value} and {coupon_name} will be empty and THE WHOLE TEXT WILL NOT DISPLAY. You will only see:

2.Click on the review button to start editing it

3.Edit the text and link of the button

For the button text you can use merge tags like {product_name} to fill the content dynamically. But you can also use a normal text too.

For links, you can also use the merge tags. Common Button links for our emails are:

1. Review Request Email
   • {review_request_link}
2. Review Verify Email (for unverified reviews left directly from the on-site widget)
   • {verify_review_link}
   • {edit_review_link}

Of course you might want to create your own custom buttons and not those exact ones, so you can use any link you want there, it doesn’t have a merge tag.

There, you can edit the fields mentioned above. When you’re ready, click the ‘Save’ button in the top bar to save your changes.
