We’re glad to introduce new widgets sections (or app blocks) that you can easily drag & drop via the brand new theme editor available for Shopify stores. Follow our step-by-step tutorials to add our new app theme sections to your different pages on themes using Shopify OS 2.0.

Requirements for all tutorials:

You will only need to have Opinew installed on your Shopify store and complete our onboarding process to make sure our code is added to your theme’s code automatically.

On newly created Shopify stores, Shopify Dawn Theme will be your default theme. Refer to this article if you’d like to add this theme to your store.

Add Opinew’s Stars and Review Widget to your Shopify Product Pages

Product Stars

Step 1: Switch from the homepage to your product page inside the editor.

Step 2: On the left sidebar, under “Product Information” click on “Add Blocks“, scroll down to the bottom, and locate our “Product Stars” section.

Step 3: We recommend positioning it under your product title so they have more impact on your visitors. In order to do that, simply drag it and drop it below the product title section.

Product reviews

Step 1: On the left sidebar, click on “Add Sections” and locate our “Product Reviews”

If you’d like to customize the style of this section, you will need to do it directly within the Opinew application.

Other Widgets: Carousel, All Reviews Page, All Reviews Badge

Review Carousel

Step 1: Open the Shopify Dawn theme’s editor by clicking on Online Store > Themes > Customize

Step 2: On the left sidebar, scroll down and locate the “Add Sections” button.

Step 3: On the dropdown menu, scroll down to the bottom, locate “Featured Review Carousel“, and click on it to add it to the page.

Step 4: If you want to change its position on your page, click on it on the left sidebar and drag it to your desired position.

All Reviews (Footer) Badge

Shopify’s 2.0 theme editor doesn’t allow us to add specific sections to the footer for now. You can still add it to your pages outside of your footer using the drag & drop method. Please contact the support via the live chat button inside the app if you’d like to add this badge to your footer.

Step 1: On the left sidebar, scroll down to the bottom, click ” Add Sections” and locate our “All Reviews Badge” section.

If you want to change its position on your page, drag it and drop it to your desired position.

Step 2: This section comes with customizable options located on the right sidebar:

• You can select between three types of badges:
  • Wide Badge with average stars
  • Small Badge
  • Wide Badge
• You can change the alignment to your preference (Left, Center, Right)

The end result (Coupon offer in email request, before they write review)

Here is how this offer looks like in a review request email:

To create it inside of the review request email template, we use conditional merge tags. If there are no coupons or no coupon matches, the text will not display.

After your customer writes their review, they will be shown a page with a coupon code and get an email.

Creating a Coupon

To create a coupon, go to Request > Review Request Configuration > Coupon.

Opinew is fully integrated with Shopify couponing system so coupons you create in Opinew will be created in Shopify.

Here you will create the coupon.

And customize the coupon email template

And here you can customize the “Thank You Page” that shows immediately after customer leaves a review and can also include the coupon.

After you created a coupon

1. Add a coupon offering text to your review request email
2. You can personalise the coupon email to fit your branding
3. Customize the Thank You Page with the coupon text. If any of the coupons apply to the customer they can be displayed here too since this is the page the customer goes to after writing a verified review.

Create an All Reviews page on your Shopify Store

To add a dedicated Shop Reviews Page to your Shopify store:

1. Head over to your Shopify Pages menu
2. Create a new page by clicking the “Add page” button.
3. When in the Page menu, pick the “page.opinew_all_reviews” template.

5. Save the page

To get this page to display in your navbar menu, you have to add this page to your navigation using the  Shopify Navigation menu.

How to add the new page to your shop’s navigation menu

1.- In your Online Store dashboard open the Navigation page

2.- Open the Main menu

3.- Inside the main menu click the ‘Add new item’ to add the new navigation element

4.- Open the ‘Pages’ category to see the list of available pages

5.- Select the Reviews page and click the ‘Add’ button

6.- Once the page is added to the main menu the last step is to save the menu
