Make sure you have both Lantern & Opinew installed on your Shopify store.

In order to both apps, please create your quiz, and then head over to the “Results Page”:

Once there, on the right sidebar menu, locate “Results Integration” and expand it.

In order to add reviews to Lantern’s quiz, click on “Show product reviews”.

Once the box is ticked, you will have a dropdown menu with the review apps you can integrate Lantern with, scroll down to locate Opinew and select it.

That’s it! Your star ratings will now display on each product showcased in your quiz’s results.

Activate Opinew Extensions inside Beae Page Builder

Before being able to drag & drop Opinew components into your pages, you will need to activate them within Beae’s editor. In order to do that, open any pages you would like to customize.

On the left sidebar, locate and click on “Elements”.

Scroll down to the bottom and locate the “Extensions” drop-down option. Click on it and you will see an “Add New” button.

Open it and you should be able to locate the Opinew Product Reviews App extensions. Click “Install Now” and go back to the editor.

Add reviews to Beae’s Product Pages

Once the Opinew extensions are installed, you will now see that 3 new extensions are available for you to drag & drop:

• Product Stars
• All Reviews Badge
• Product Reviews

Step 1: Drag & drop the “Product Stars” extension below your product’s title, or the position of your choice.

Step 2: Drag & drop the “Product Reviews” extension to the position of your choice.

Step 3: Drag & drop the “All Reviews Badge” to the position of your choice. We usually recommend adding it to the footer or at the end of the page.

If you want to customize the look and feel of Opinew’s review widgets, you will need to head over to the Opinew app to customize them. You can follow our tutorial on how to edit and make the most of your review widgets.

Set Opinew As Your Default Review App on EComposer

When working with pre-built templates, you’ll notice that some review sections are already pre-added. In order to avoid you to drag & drop the Opinew elements, and delete the existing ones, you can just open the settings panel on the top right of your screen and select Opinew as the default review app.

This will automatically connect to Opinew and display the reviews from Opinew.

Drag & Drop Opinew Reviews to EComposer Pages

If you are going full custom, here’s how to drag & drop the Opinew elements:

• Open the editor
• Click on the extensions on the top sidebar and search for Opinew widgets
• Install all Opinew widgets
• Now on the left sidebar, scroll down to the 3rd party section in the Elements tab
• Locate Opinew widgets and drag & drop them to the location of your choice

If you are looking to customize the widgets’ style, alignment and more, you will need to do it inside Opinew’s dashboard and save your changes before you see them on your live pages.

Once you have set up both apps, you must head to the GemPages dashboard and create a new page. Once on your new page, locate “Library” on the top left, select Elements and scroll down until you locate Opinew. Toggle to activate it and the Opinew integration should be activated.

Add Review Widgets to GemPages’ Custom Product Pages

To add Opinew’s review widgets to your custom product pages built with GemPages, create a new product page first and assign it to a product or multiple products. Then, on the left sidebar, scroll down until you reach “Third-Party” elements and you should see the Opinew element.

Add Star Ratings to a product page

To add star ratings to your product page, just drag & drop the Opinew element below the product title or the location of your choice. The default state of the Opinew element is our main review widget, so you will need to select the element and change it on the left sidebar. Under “Choose widget”, open the dropdown menu and select “Star Badge”.

If you want to add the main review widget with the actual reviews, you must drag & drop the Opinew element again to the location of your choice (we usually recommend below the product description). You won’t need to change the element’s state as it is by default the main review widget already.

Feel free to publish or preview the live page to check if the location is correct and if the widgets display correctly.

Add Star Ratings to Collection Pages

Opinew allows you to display star ratings below your products on your collection pages, and our integration with GemPages also lets you do that!

First, create a collection page and assign it to a collection you created. Then repeat the same steps as above and drag & drop the Opinew element to one of the products listed in this collection. It will automatically be added to all the products in the collection.

Now, all you need to do is change the state of the widget in the dropdown menu and select “Star Badge in Collection”.

The collection page should now display star ratings below your products’ names.

Add a Review Carousel on your Homepage or Landing Pages

First, create your homepage or landing page with GemPages and then drag & drop the Opinew element to the location of your choice. When adding it to one of these pages, the Opinew element’s state will be by default our Carousel widget. Hit Publish and the Opinew Carousel widget should display on your homepage or landing page.

If you don’t see the Carousel widget, it may be because you haven’t added any reviews to be displayed in your carousel. In order to do that, you can follow our guide on how to add reviews to our Carousel widget.

Add an All Reviews Badge to GemPages

Opinew’s all reviews badge is a great way to quickly show the total amount of reviews you have and an average rating of all your products. If you’re looking to add it to your header or footer, you will need to do it through Shopify theme settings as GemPages doesn’t allow you to do that. You can check out this guide on how to display Opinew’s All Reviews Badge to your Shopify theme.

If you’d like to display the All Reviews Badge on one of your custom pages created with GemPages, you can just drag & drop the Opinew element again to the location of your choice and then change the state to “All Reviews Badge”.

Add an All Reviews Page with GemPages and Opinew

In order to display Opinew’s All Reviews Widget, you will need to create a new custom page. In order to do that, open GemPages’ dashboard and create a new Landing Page. On this new page, just drag & drop the Opinew element and select the “All Reviews” state. Hit publish, and all your reviews from all your products will be displayed on this page.

That’s it! You should be able to now use all of Opinew’s Review Widgets on your custom Shopify pages built with GemPages.

Push Reviews to Google with Opinew and Schema Plus

The integration is very straightforward.

As long you have set up both apps properly, the integration will work automatically. Schema Plus will detect which Shopify review app you are using and will put in the necessary information to update your product schema.

Wait until it’s updated to make sure the star ratings and review count are visible when looking for your products on Google.

Opinew and the star rating widget must be installed on your theme and you have reviews on your products.

Product Filter and Search is installed and you have set up a default filter for your collection pages.

Add Reviews to Product Filter & Search

The integration is pretty straightforward if you want to quickly add reviews to product filters on Shopify. All you need to do is head over to Product Filter and Search, open Plugins and locate Opinew. Once you’re there, toggle the switch to activate Opinew’s star ratings to display on your product filters.

That’s it! You can now visit your website and open a collection page. You will see your product filter and the star ratings under the products that are displayed.

Add Star Ratings to Replo

Open Replo, and create a new product page or edit your current product page created in Replo. 

Open the component tab, and search for the liquid component. 

Drag & drop the liquid component to the location of your choice on your page. For product stars, we usually recommend placing them right under your product’s name or above the price. 

Open the Config tab and “Launch the code editor” on the right sidebar. 

Copy and paste the liquid code on this page or below and hit “Save code”.

If you can’t see it live in the editor, click to preview the page. Once you’re happy with it, hit publish. 

If you’re looking to customise the colour or the display of the stars, you will need to head back to Opinew’s dashboard > Widgets > Product & Collection Stars.

Add Opinew’s Main Product Review Widget to Replo

On the same page, create a new container, and add a new liquid component inside of it.

Copy and paste the liquid code below and hit “Save code”.

Once you hit publish, you will be able to see the product review widget on your live product page.

If you notice that the widget goes out of the window like in the picture below, follow these 2 simple steps:

First, set the Width to “Fill Available Width”.

Finally, set the margin-left and margin-right to 20px.

Now the Opinew widget should display correctly on your live Shopify store.

Reply to Reviews on Zendesk in 4 steps

Once you have connected Opinew and Zendesk, head over to Zendesk’s Marketplace and install our Opinew custom app.

Once installed, anytime you open a ticket that has been created by Opinew, you will be able to open the Opinew sidebar app.

After you opened the sidebar app, a text box will let you write your reply to the review.

Write your review and hit “Send”.

Wait a few seconds and a pop-up should appear on the top right to let you know that the review was published.

You can then head over to Opinew to double-check that the review has been uploaded and is visible on your Shopify store.

That’s it! Now your support agents can directly reply to reviews on Zendesk. This will help them save time and focus on other tasks while you make sure that no reviews are left without a reply.

Here’s how to do it:

Go to Integrations and Experts -> Integrations and click on the rise.ai integration card, then select Enable rise.ai integration:

Once done, go to your rise.ai dashboard and go to Loyalty and rewards, and at the botton select Create your own:

Once there, on Select trigger click on Create your own:

Now on Name your trigger type customer left a review on Opinew, and create the following variables exactly as shown by clicking on Add variable right below Customer Email (you can copy and paste the names and paths from the snippet below):

Keep an eye on review_star_rating with Type: Number and is_photo_review with type True/False.

Once you do that your variables should look like this:

If so, click on Copy and paste the Http body back on Opinew, on the Your Rise AI custom payload field:

Back on rise.ai, click Create trigger:

Then the following window will show up. Click on Copy and paste the URL back on Opinew in the second field that says Your Rise AI custom trigger URL:

Then don’t forget to click Save.

Great! Your custom trigger info has been saved on Opinew. Now you can customize the flow back in rise.ai:

Select the trigger you just created and then on the right select Add action. Now you can choose between adding a delay, customer tags or issue store credit.

Now on the left if you click on Issue store credit, you can select the type and amount you want to grant. Then on Notifications you’ll be able to customize your email. You can even use the variables created before for the trigger by clicking on See variables:

To use them just click to copy them and use them on your email as you want.

When you’re done, enable the workflow and click on Save:

That’s it! Now every time customers leave a review on your shop the will get the reward of your choice.

You can even set workflows with conditions based on review_star_rating or is_photo_review if you want to give better rewards based on them. Some ideas are to give better rewards to customers who leave reviews with photos or 5 star reviewers, like this:

Our main product review widget comes with 4 different themes layout you can choose from: Default, Modern, Minimal, and Carousel.

Opinew’s review widget settings are divided into three main components:

• General Settings
• Colour Settings
• Font Size Settings

General Settings

First, you will need to choose between our 4 different themes. Read more about each of our new review widgets layouts here.

Language

Then, you will be asked to choose the main language of your reviews. Choose between more than 80+ languages to display in your store.

Sorting of Reviews

Default sorting controls the order in which reviews are sorted by default on the store. The merchant can choose to sort by:

• Smart Reviews

Smart reviews are available as an add-on for Growth and Advanced plans and included in the Enterprise plan.

• By time (newest reviews first)
• By review photos and videos, then by time

On your Shopify store, the customer will see the following sort by options:

• Photos & Videos
• Verified purchase
• Default (only if Smart Reviews is enabled)
• Recent
• Highest Rated
• Lowest Rated

No Reviews

Controls whether an empty state widget is shown to customers in the store. The product may have ratings or not.

Review Source

The label displays if the control is on and if the reviews have been imported from Amazon, eBay, or Aliexpress.

Verified Label

The label displays if the control is on and if we can match the email address of the review to an email that made a purchase or if the review was verified at the time of import.

Search

Display a search bar on your review widget and let your customers search for specific reviews.

Separate Reviews

Available only on Enterprise plans.

This will display International reviews on the segmented control navigation menu. Any reviews in a different language will be displayed on your review widget in a different tab called International Reviews.

Star Bars

Stars bars are only available on the Default theme layout.

The customer will be able to filter the reviews by a given star rating by hovering over the star bar.

Date Format

The date controls whether a date is shown for each review and in which format.

Options for the date format:

• day/month/year
• month/day/vear
• year/month/day
• Relative (Ebay’s date format) eg. The past month

Reviews per page

Reviews per page are only available on the Default, Modern, Minimal theme layouts.

Controls how many reviews are visible per page on the store.

Review Columns

Review columns are only available on the Default and Minimal theme layouts.

Controls whether the reviews display on one or two columns on the store.

Review Images

The review images settings control:

• Whether to display review images or not.
• Whether the first image for any given review is displayed larger, the user can also toggle the max height.

The main review image is only available on the Default and Minimal theme layouts, with a review column set to 1.

Controls the aspect of your review cards.

• Pick between card style and flat style.
• Activate and choose a border or a shadow colour
• Set your border-radius
• Set your review card colour

Search

Colors Settings

Widget Elements

Controls the colour of the stars rating and the search icon colour.

Font Colours

• Body text: Controls the review text, total number of reviews and date colours.
• Large rating
• Tabs text color
• Verified label: Controls the colour of the font and icon
• Review source label: Controls the colour of the font and icon
• Reviewer Name: Controls the colour of the name of the reviewer
• Search placeholder: Controls the colour of the ‘Search’ placeholder text in the search bar

The search placeholder is only available on Growth, Advanced and Enterprise plans.

• Navbar text: Controls the colour of the Reviews | Q&A | International

Q&A is only available for the Growth plan and onwards. The search feature is only available on the Enterprise plan.

Button Colours

• Write a review button: Controls the colour of the button
• Write a review button text: Controls the colour of the text inside the button
• Sort by / Filter by button: Controls the colour of the filter and sort by button border and font

Pagination Colours

Controls the colour of the arrows to go to the previous or next page of reviews and the colour of the review page number.

Font Size

You can set a font size in rem or pixels for the Main review text, this is the body of the review. The other fonts will scale in relation to this.
